Has it already been a week since our Christmas market? It’s hard to believe that it’s come and gone already! Thankfully, Jayme Lang wa on hand to take some gorgeous photos of Fieldstone Vintage Market for those of you who weren’t able to make it to the EcoDairy this time ’round. Although the sun decided not to shine down on us and it was just a wee bit colder than our Fall show, it was still an amazing day for vendors and customers alike! Jayme and Jessica MacDonald of Trove Vintage Rentals & Handmade Affairs set up an adorable vintage living room for their photo booth under the tents and it was filled with so many great treasures that it was tough to keep eager shoppers out! But in between portraits, Jayme was able to weave her way through the crowds and give you all a glimpse of Fieldstone….
With so many glittering baubles, handmade gifts and excited shoppers, it was impossible not to get into the Christmas spirit! The EcoDairy was once again an ideal location and added to the festive mood with fresh cut trees, hot cider, and even the sounds of bleating goats and gobbling turkeys in the petting zoo!
Feel sad that you missed out on the fun or wish you’d purchased a few more goodies? Don’t fret…many of our vendors have online shops or sell their goods in other local stores. Be sure to visit our vendor page and take a browse through their links…you may even find a little something for your own stocking!
Despite the clouds and the cold, we had a fabulous day and are so happy that Jayme was able to capture the majority of our vendors’ lovely wares. There are a few display pics missing but the tents filled up quickly and we had many a determined shopper sneak in early to get a glimpse, making it tough to take photos. We’ll be posting more on our Facebook page as everyone downloads their cameras this weekend so be sure to check in for more!
Each edition of Fieldstone Vintage Market has been everything we’ve hoped it would be and oh-so-much more! We’ve met so many amazing people and have been endlessly inspired by our vendors and by the sense of community that magically happens when a group of like-minded people come together in one space. Rachel and I have received a number of emails since our Fall market asking us how we’ve gone about organizing and marketing our shows and we love the fact that at least a few people have been encouraged to put together similar events after seeing our efforts. Creativity is contagious, don’t you think? The handmade and vintage movement is making a big comeback and we are thrilled to play even a tiny part in it. Anne Godefroy recently wrote a very interesting article that we read onStraight.com about the boom of local markets in the Vancouver area…you can read it here. We’re hoping to make it to the One of a Kind Show on Sunday and Got Craft? has put together a great list of other local events and upcoming shows to check out before Christmas…

Thanks again to all 28 of our beautiful vendors, to the Bakerview EcoDairy for hosting us and the hoards of visitors, to the Reach Gallery and Trout Hatchery for putting together fun activities for the kids, and to everyone else who participated and helped launch theSalvation Army‘s Coats for Kids drive…the bins were overflowing! We know many needy folks in our town will have some much needed warmth this winter thanks to all of your generosity. Stay tuned to our blogs and Facebook page for announcements of future markets and information on how to apply as a vendor. Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
